MASONIC CULTURAL CENTER
ELIZABETHTOWN, PA

The 2012 Spring session of the Academy of Masonic Knowledge will be held on Saturday, March 24th, in the Deike Auditorium of the Masonic Cultural Center on the campus of Masonic Village in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Registration will open at 8:30 AM with the program beginning at 9:30 AM. A lunch (voluntary contribution) will be served at noon and the program will be completed by 3:00 PM. All Masons are welcome to attend. Dress is coat and tie.

PROGRAM FORMAT

In today's changing Masonic culture there are new paradigms emerging of which we should be aware, grave implications to consider, and sobering opportunities that will either be reaped or passed over in our contemporary, multi-generational lodges. Today's Freemasonry will have to be consciously reflective about how it handles these opportunities, as we envision our future while honoring our past. Short presentations by three of the Academy's Master Masonic Scholars will set the stage for table group discussions of the road ahead. The Academy departs somewhat from its usual format to encourage the greatest possible participation.

The Speakers for the day are Academy Master Masonic Scholars:
  • Brother John W. Postlewait, Hobah Lodge No. 276 - "Building Multi-generational Lodges: In the Winds of Change, We Will Find Our True Direction"
  • Brother W. William Melnyk, Springfield-Hanby Lodge No. 767 - "The Two Saints John as a Guide to the Past and Future of the Craft"
  • Brother George R. Haynes, Columbia Lodge No. 91 - "Secrecy and Selection in the Internet Age"
The great objective in Freemasonry is to gain useful knowledge, and the Academy provides a great opportunity for the Brethren to learn and to understand more about the significance of the Craft. Plan to attend and bring a Brother or two along with you.

Pre-registration is required. To pre-register simply E-mail Brother Jim Standish with your name, address, Lodge number, telephone number, and email address, or, send this same information to Brother Jim Standish at: 1 Pierce Court, Glen Mills, PA 19342-1787.

If you pre-register and subsequently determine that you will be unable to attend, please notify Brother Standish so that he can adjust the luncheon count.

We look forward to seeing you on the March 24th.
